Promotion ahead of Valentine's day

T-Mobile has announced that its entire range of phones, and a number of tablets, will be offered for free during a one-day promotion on Saturday, February 11. The "Valentine's Day Sale" applies to smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S II, BlackBerry Bold 9900, HTC Amaze 4G and Nokia Lumia 710, along with the SpringBoard tablet and the Sonic 4G hotspot.

The promotion is based on mail-in rebates, bringing the net cost down to $0 but requiring new and upgrade-eligible customers to pay the standard out-of-pocket prices for the range of devices. Existing customers who have been with the carrier for less than 18 months will face "standard migration fees" when switching from a Classic plan to a Value plan.

Competing carrier Verizon has already announced its own Valentine's Day promotion, which begins on Friday, February 10. Customers will be able to pick up the Droid 4 for the first time, while other devices are offered alongside buy-one-get-one deals and double data.
