Timing for fix remains unclear

Samsung and AT&T have temporarily halted their update program for the Infuse 4G handset due to an unspecified bug. The issue is claimed to affect only a small number of users, however the companies have nonetheless decided to stop releasing the updates while they work to develop a fix.

The long-awaited update finally brought Gingerbread to the smartphone, after it shipped last May with Android 2.2. Users were able to take advantage of a redesigned keyboard, new widgets, a download manager, and optimizations for improved battery life.

An AT&T representative initially suggested the update would arrive last August, however it was not released until early this year. The companies have yet to pin down a new time-frame for rereleasing the update with the necessary fixes.
