Low-end phone features four-inch screen

Motorola has set out official plans to launch the MOTOLUXE in the UK. The entry-level phone sports a four-inch display and runs Android 2.3. Carriers weren't named, but resellers should have the phone by late February.

Motorola had trotted out the phone in early January, shortly before CES. It comes powered by just a 800MHz processor, but it has a 480x854 screen and sports both eight-megapixel back and VGA front cameras. The 1,400mAh battery is good for up to 6.5 hrs in 2G mode, albeit at the cost of a low 4.5 hrs in 3G.

Motorola's introduction of the MOTOLUXE into the UK is a bit of a surprise. Its basic functionality and expected low price positioned it more for China and other markets, where cost is important.
