Gaming laptop features 3rd generation Core i7 CPU

Samsung's new Ivy Bridge powered gaming laptop has popped up at the company's US website and is available for pre-order. The 17.3-inch NP700G7C-S01US is powered by a third-generation and so far unannounced 2.3GHz Intel Core i7-3610QM quad-core processor. It comes paired with a similarly unofficial, discrete NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675M for graphics.

The self-proclaimed Superbright display offers a 1080p resolution with its namesake high 400 nits of brightness. It would be very ambitiously equipped, coming with 16GB of memory and dual 1TB hard drives. HDMI out and a two-megapixel webcam would ship as standard.

Samsung is mum about when the gaming laptop will ship. Intel itself is not expected to ship the newest generation Ivy Bridge processors until April. Samsung lists three vendors as selling the NP700G7C. However only one of these, Abt, is currently accepting pre-orders for $1899.

The Samsung site itself shows pricing of $1,699. However since the images of the notebook on the vendor appears to be not of a 17-inch laptop, but of a smaller Series 7 computer, that might be suspect. [via Laptoping]
