Google+ for Android gets revamp

Google has updated its Google+ app (Free, Android Market) for Android. The latest version incorporates significant speed boosts, including quicker load times. One of the new features added includes a ‘What’s hot’ stream allowing users to quickly see the latest buzz from friends.

The Google+ app for Android now also gives users the ability to see who +1’d a post or comment, stream posts shortened to fit more per scroll, adds an infinite photos feed in ‘From your circles,’ while the stream now no longer jumps to the top for an automatic refresh.

Google+ was launched in June last year and integrates a number of Google’s social services in what amounts to a would-be Facebook challenger. Earlier this year, Google announced that Google+ has a subscriber base over 90 million, which though while increasing, is still several hundred million users behind Facebook.
