Another purported iPad 3 back shows cosmetic changes

iPad 3 may have repositioned camera

Another proclaimed leak of an iPad 3 casing has given some possible clearer indicators of how the design might change. Unlike the previous tip, Apple.pro's view shows the back and more conspicuously shows the moved rear camera. The outside also suggests a conservative design with virtually the same tapered aluminum as the iPad 2.

A separate shot of magnets implies that the Smart Cover system will be back for the third-generation iPad, although this was already presumed to be staying.

None of the usual markings are on the back and have led to some questions about the authenticity of the images. However, if it's a prototype or pulled off of the manufacturing line, it may not have necessarily received the laser-etched markings for the "iPad" name or regulatory approvals.

The photos mostly gain credibility by corroborating both recent photos as well as earlier descriptions of a similar, if slightly thicker, design relative to what Apple produces now. Some have suggested Apple may call it an "iPad 2S," although the widely rumored 2048x1536 display, A6 processor, and LTE support could make it considerably more powerful. [via MacRumors]
