Nokia outs Public Transport app for Belle phones

Nokia has just detailed its new Nokia Public Transport app (free, Ovi Store), for its Belle-powered smartphones. It offers bus, train, underground and suburban train schedules for nearly 80 cities and urban areas around the world. Users can also bookmark often-visited locations such as their home or work.

Opening the app will show users an overview of the next available departures to these favorite destinations. Users also have the ability to search for points of interest, and they are guided to the stop by voice directions from Nokia Maps, much like Google Maps Navigation's transit feature. The full app is based on user feedback from the beta version, which was out since October.

Some of the cities covered in the app include Auckland, Berlin, Denmark, Edmonton, Flanders, Helsinki, London, Toronto, and more.

Nokia said it is working on bringing the app to its Lumia handsets soon as well.
