Google TV gets teased update

Google made the unusual choice of a Facebook posting to hint at "big announcements" coming for Google TV on Monday. The company wouldn't give any clues as to its plans. It's unlikely to include any minor OS updates, since it recently updated to Android 3.2.

The company is known to have devices in testing, including a possible Android@Home wireless audio system, but none of these are necessarily connected to Google TV. One possibility is an upgrade to Android 4.0 to improve the browser experience. Alternately, it may port Chrome for Android to the TV to get the faster speeds and newer interface.

Most Android TV hardware releases this year aren't due until later in the spring from LG, Samsung, Sony, and Vizio.
