Huawei may have high-end phone, tablet in MWC show

Huawei's media event at Mobile World Congress may have already been spoiled early after company chairman Yu Chengdong possibly spoiled it in his Weibo profile. The February 26 Barcelona event would purportedly include the Ascend D1 Q, a presumably quad-core cousin of the Android 4.0-based Ascend P1 S. Its choice of chip wasn't mentioned, but would most likely be NVIDIA's Tegra 3 given the company's own event and other phones coming from Fujitsu and HTC.

Also discussed was a MediaPad 10, an upsized version of the existing seven-inch original MediaPad. Fewer giveaways have popped up here, although the larger screen would allow for a faster processor. Larger tablets usually make more storage and higher resolution displays commonplace.

The executive wasn't forthcoming on exact release dates, although they may show within the next few months given that the P1 S is due to ship in April. [via Blog of Mobile and Unwired View]
