Intel-powered Motorola Android 4.0 phone possibly spotted

Motorola may use Intel Medfield in phone

Motorola's recent partnership with Intel may manifest itself soon if a possibly leaked render is accurate. The shot captured by PocketNow showed a silver, wedge-shaped design with no buttons on the front. Appropriately, it would be using Android 4.0 and appeared to have a handful of tweaks, such as a hybrid battery/time/weather widget and badges for missed messages.

Intel's Medfield-based Atom processor would be at its heart, but scarce else was mentioned with the tip. The camera is supposedly the selling point, using both Android 4.0's support for fast camera response as well as a more unique 15 frames per second burst shot mode.

The unnamed phone could show as soon as Mobile World Congress at the end of February, although it might take some time to ship. If real, it could be the first out-of-the-box Android 4.0 phone from Motorola. Current phones are getting the update but may not be ready for several weeks or more.

Intel is hoping to come into smartphones with a performance edge over ARM and potentially the same battery life. Whether that's true or not in practice is an unknown and also depends on whether or not Intel-based phones ship in time.

    Yeah we already know.

    Man, that's an ugly phone.
