Budget tablet offers Gingerbread experience

ZTE has introduced yet another budget-priced Android tablet, the Light Tab II, that is set to arrive in the UK market. The tablet offers a modest set of hardware features, centering around a seven-inch touchscreen and a 1.4GHz single-core Qualcomm processor.

Users can also take advantage of 4GB of integrated memory, expandable using microSD cards, along with dual cameras, Wi-Fi, an FM radio and 3G support for select networks.

The tablet runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread, rather than one of the newer versions of Google's mobile OS geared specifically for tablets. It remains unclear if the device will eventually be upgraded to a Honeycomb or Ice Cream Sandwich build.

The tablet is expected to arrive "soon" in the UK, however a specific launch date and pricing information has yet to be announced. [via Phandroid]
