Galaxy Ace Duos joins three others in India
Samsung's Indian branch brought out four dual SIM card phones with the surprise introduction of a genuinely new model. The Galaxy Ace Duos keeps the original Ace's 3.5-inch, 320x480 display and defining form but adds the Duos line's twin SIM slots to let GSM users keep two lines. It still uses Android 2.3 and hinges on an 832MHz processor with a large 1,650mAh battery, but it adds CDMA and EVDO Revision A 3G for some local carriers, like Reliance and Tata.
The introduction included the Galaxy Y Duos and Y Pro Duos, which are entry touch-only and BlackBerry-like Android 2.3 devices. Either has a three-megapixel fixed-focus camera, while the Pro Duos brings a VGA camera for front chat.
One basic feature phone, the Star 3 Duos, is joining the Indian mix. The recently unveiled hardware has a three-inch, 240x320 touchscreen, 2G data, and Wi-Fi.
Prices start at as little as $127 off-contract for the Star 3 Duos and move up to prices of $212 for the Galaxy Y Duos, $225 for the Y Pro Duos, and $342 for the headlining Ace Duos. [via Sammy Hub]
