Acer to bring Android 4 to all tablets in April

Acer has revealed the official timeline for updating its range of Iconia Tabs to Android 4.0. The 10.1-inch A200 is currently getting the update in the US, while the 10-inch A500 and 7-inch A100 will get the software in April. As part of the update, the A500 and A100 will get the Acer Ring launcher, the company's own customization that lets users make shortcuts, capture screenshots, and more.

The Ring interface also lets users post status updates to popular social networks. Otherwise, the weather widget is being updated, and the lock screen grants access to the quick-launch apps. Photographers will have the option of capturing still images while recording videos, like in some current DSLRs and high-speed compact cameras. New movie and still image edition will be options as well.
