HTC Fireball nears release with Wi-Fi blessing

The mysterious HTC Fireball handset leaked back in December has now gone through the Wi-Fi certification process (PDF), suggesting it's closer to launch. It is billed as coming to Verizon and sport 4G LTE support. The leaked photos from last year make it look like the Droid Incredible 2.

Specs may include a dual-core, 1.2GHz processor, 1GB of RAM, an eight-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera, and an AMOLED screen, though these have just been rumored.

The certification document does match up with the earlier Verizon inventory leak by way of the ADR6410LVW model number, with the VW standing for Verizon Wireless. Exactly when the Android phone will arrive remains to be seen, although most major US-specific phones have launches timed around the CTIA spring show, which takes place in May this year.
