eden Tab coming to Japan on February 25

A new Chinese-made tablet will soon be sold in Japan as the eden Tab. The seven-inch, 1280x800 device will use a dual-core, 1.2GHz processor of an unknown make (though likely a Snapdragon). Android 2.3.3 will be onboard when shipping, though an update to Android 4.0 is already in the pipeline

There will also be 1GB of RAM onboard and 16GB of storage space. There won't be access to the Android Market, however, with users instead relying on a third-party store called Tapnow Market. Expansion includes a microSD card slot, a micro USB port, and mini HDMI.

The tablet will cost about 29,800 Yen (nearly $370). A 3G version is slated for April, with carrier subsidies likely driving down the initial price to free on a contract. [via Impress]
