Huawei MediaPad 10 uncovered in real photos
Huawei's MediaPad 10 was spoiled a few days ahead of its Mobile World Congress debut on Tuesday after a leak through Russia's Mail.ru. The 10-inch design is at once a refinement and close cousin of the seven-inch version. It keeps a very thin aluminum design and is believed to be lightweight, albeit with a familiar looking dock connector similar to that of the iPad.
Inside, the new MediaPad is expected to carry Android 4.0 and an eight-megapixel rear camera with a flash. It may get a microSD card slot and has a plastic top surface hinting at 3G, although it's still speculation whether or not the tablet would get a quad-core Tegra 3 processor like that expected for the Ascend D1 Q or else go to a more conservative dual-core processor like a Snapdragon.
Huawei details its 2012 lineup just ahead of Mobile World Congress, on February 26. Launch details are still unknowns, although T-Mobile picked up the seven-inch MediaPad as the Springboard (linked above) and might see an opportunity for a low-cost 10-inch slate through the new version.
