MoboTap publishes thousands of Android apps

Developer MoboTap has raised questions surrounding the Android app submission process for the BlackBerry App World, after the company noticed that its Dolphin HD browser had been added to RIM's app portal by a third party. The developer claims that it had no idea that the app had been submitted to RIM, and the move was not authorized.

MoboTap points out that its app was actually submitted by Handster, a multi-platform store that offers apps for the most popular mobile operating systems. Reasons for the submission remain unclear, however, as the free app does not bring in any direct revenue from each download.

""We do not condone Handster submitting our Dolphin Browser app to BlackBerry's App World for us and are currently working to take it down and assure Handster will not submit our app for us again," a MoboTap spokesperson told Engadget.

Handster has already published several thousand apps to the BlackBerry App world, including several hundred titles that are not free downloads. The content spans a wide range of developers, each credited in the extended app title but published under "Handster Inc."

    desperate measure by RIM

It is desperate measure by RIM to push up their playbook sales. The whole idea of porting android apps to bb sounds crazy. Its just like porting iphone app in android.
Its high time RIM concentrates on improving its own software stack instead of using such cheap marketing ideas
