Nokia Lumia 800 gets Canadian release date

Telus set out to claim the earliest Canadian release of the Nokia Lumia 800 on the weekend by with a teaser confirming a March 2 date. The network didn't want to give out prices for the Windows Phone, but it did expect to have all three worldwide colors so far made public, including black, cyan blue, and pink. The Telus edition should be close in spirit to the European make.

The Lumia 800 stands out through its rare unibody, polycarbonate plastic design and a slightly convex AMOLED display. It sits at the higher end of the Windows Phone scale with a 1.4GHz Snapdragon chip inside as well as an an eight-megapixel, wide f2.2 aperture camera. Nokia should at least be shipping its free turn-bssed GPS app, Nokia Drive, as well as giving access to its own Nokia-exclusive features.

Rogers, Telus' biggest opponent, is focusing on the cheaper and less powerful Lumia 710. [via MobileSyrup]
