Best Buy puts iPad 2 on sale ahead of expected iPad 3 launch

Knocks $50 off all iPad models in stock
Ahead of strong indications of an imminent iPad 3 announcement, Best Buy has dropped the price of the iPad 2. The electronics retailer has knocked $50 off of every iPad 2 in stock. Such discounts are rare, suggesting a link with the iPad 3.
The iPad 3 is expected to have significantly greater performance than the current model. It will most likely be powered by a quad-core A6 processor, and sport a 2048x1536 display, along with an improved rear-facing camera. For the first time in any Apple product, it may support LTE 4G.
Interested iPad 2 buyers may still find it worthwhile to hold off until after Apple launches the next-gen hardware. Several sources all hint that once an anticipated March 7th iPad 3 announcement arrives, the iPad 2 may sell at a discount of $100 or more. [via BGR]
