Canon PIXMA MX892 gets cloud printing support
Canon introduced a new PIXMA-series high end printer on Tuesday in the MX892 Wireless Office All-In-One (AIO). The printer will connect to cloud and local network services to print or fax documents, including AirPrint, Google's Cloud Print, Picasa Web Albums, and PIXMA Cloud Link services. The printer also offers a number of templates for placing images on stationery and calendars, among others.
Users can print from their Android or iOS devices through the Canon Easy-PhotoPrint (EPP) app. PDFs created in the app can be sent to the printer as well. Canon focuses on 802.11n Wi-Fi with Wireless Protected Setup (WPS) to get online, though an Ethernet port is also present.
A 3-inch LCD helps with PC-free printing, and the machine can print 12.5 images per minute for black-and-white documents and 9.3ipm for color.
There is no word on when the printer will ship, but when it does, it will cost $200.
