Samsung reveals 2.8-inch Galaxy Pocket

Samsung has continued its trend of releasing devices in every possible screen size by announcing the Galaxy Pocket. The Galaxy Pocket, however, temporarily reverses the trend towards its increasingly large Android smartphone screen sizes by measuring a diminutive 2.8-inches. Along with the smaller 240x320 screen users will also find a reduced feature set, but will have no problem fitting it into their pockets or navigating it with one hand.

The Galaxy Pocket runs Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) with TouchWiz on a processor clocked at 832MHz. It incorporates a 2-megapixel rear camera and 3GB of internal storage, but is expandable. It also packs in Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, an accelerometer, a-GPS and digital compass.

The Galaxy Pocket will be hitting the UK ‘later this year’ and ‘at an affordable price’ according to Samsung’s press release. There is currently no word on whether the device will reach North America as an official release at this time.
