ThinkCentre M70z, M90z AIO desktops recalled

Some of Lenovo's ThinkCentre M90z and ThinkCentre M70z all-in-one desktop computers are being voluntarily recalled by the maker and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission. About 50,500 units are affected, due to a possible fire hazard from an overheating internal power supply component. Owners are being urged to stop using the affected PCs and are warned that it's illegal to resell or try to resell a recalled product.

Lenovo has documented just one fire incident and one smoke incident in the US, with no resulting injuries, the PC builder said. The all-in-one PCs house the computer's hardware components alongside the monitor itself. Only M90z and M70z with date codes ranging from 1001 to 1012, 1101 to 1112, 001 to 012, and 101 to 112 are possibly affected. Owners of computers with these date codes should check with Lenovo with their serial number to see if their PCs are affected.

The recall involves a free replacement of the power supply.
