Dropbox makes numerous improvements to site, UI

Cloud storage provider Dropbox has just launched a newly redesigned website for members. The focus is on user's contents, with tools to access them readily accessible from the action bar at the top of the screen. It can be used to organize files by date, name, size, and type. Clicking on a file will change the bar to offer more specialized, immediately relevant options.

Users can also access the same actions by right-clicking on a file. A new photo viewer will blow up images on the entire screen for a better preview. Thumbnails are now available for images and videos, including Photoshop and Illustrator files, making selecting files less confusing.

Speed increases have also been realized, with drag-and-drop introduced for moving files around. Checkboxes for selecting files were ditched in favor of click dragging, and there are new keyboard shortcuts. They can be accessed by hitting the question mark key. Finally, a new live search box lets users find files as they type.
