Sony Tablet P gets unique tie in and root access

Sony's Tablet P went on sale earlier this week and now has a unique bundle as well as full access. An AT&T deal gives both the dual-screened Android 3.2 tablet and an Xperia Play for $300. While a discount on getting them separately, it does require two-year contracts for both devices.

The Tablet P is still available by itself for $400 to $550 depending on whether or not it's attached to a data contract.

Syncing with the new bundle is a new guide to root the Tablet P. A custom root app from the Pocketables forums involves a relatively straightforward use of ADB to get access and a custom app. The process is lengthy, but will allow installing any apps beyond Google and Sony limits.

Like with any root, the hack voids the warranty while it's active and comes with a slight risk for the user.
