System said to offer space reduction
IDT Wireless Power has introduced new wireless charging components that are claimed to slash the time that it takes to charge mobile devices such as cellphones and tablets. The company's latest system is said to bring a 50-percent cost savings, 67-percent reduction in component count, and 73-percent total system efficiency compared to the previous generation.
The IDTP9030 represents IDT's single-chip power transmitter, while the IDTP9020 brings a higher output power of up to 7.5W. Both components are said to be designed for compliance with the Wireless Power Consortium's Qi specification.
IDT has yet to announce pricing information or a launch time-frame for its latest charging systems.[via SlashGear]
