Browser adds Chrome migration, add-on sync

As expected, Mozilla has released the final build for its Firefox 11 browser. The major update brings several new features, expanding migration support to enable Chrome users to transfer their bookmarks, history and cookies. The browser also adds the ability to synchronize add-ons across multiple devices.

Under-the-hood tweaks include support for the CSS text-size-adjust property, along with SPDY protocol support for faster page loads. Developers can also take advantage of the Page Inspector 3D view and the Style Editor for CSS editing.

Firefox 11 is now available for Macs and Windows-based machines as a free download directly from Mozilla.

    Firefox is a good browser...

...but it no longer actively supports MacOS 10.4 and lower. I am also putting off buying a new MacBook as Apples OS/Hardware plans still confuse me. My general use computer is now an iPad 1 which Firefox does not yet support. So my main browser is iCab on the iPad and the MacOS 10.4 version of Firefox on my Mac PowerPC G5.

Safari is a decent minimalist browser, but it's like the stock stereo that comes with your car. A token offering - not meant to be taken seriously and in need of upgrading.

    just my opinion...

    No exaggeration

I'm sticking with version 8.0.1 from just 16 weeks ago.

    Wow, pathetic...

I didn't expect to read EVERY post is a rant about version numbering... how about just crying on your facespace pages? Useless. How about a review?

Oh, Firefox four hundred should be out next summer... freaking original commentary.

    My only beef about

The rapid versions of Firefox is that many third-party extension developers can't keep up. The discrepancy in versions prevents numerous extensions from functioning unless you go in and hack the xpi

    Re: My only beef

Shows that either mozilla/firefox need to stop changing their extension api, or the developers who are making these extensions need to, well, program them well so that they don't keep breaking. There are lots of extensions that don't break every time you sneeze.
