Virgin Mobile to sell PCD's Venture Android phone for $99

Virgin Mobile has announced that it is set to launch PCD's Venture handset. The budget-focused Android device brings a basic set of hardware features, centering around a 2.8-inch touchscreen that sits above a hardware QWERTY keyboard.

The Gingerbread device also integrates a 600MHz single-core processor, 512MB of RAM, a 2GB microSD card, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and a two-megapixel camera with LED flash.

Virgin Mobile is taking pre-orders for the Venture, which will be available for $99 under the company's $35/month prepaid plan with unlimited messaging and data. The phone is expected to ship by the end of the week.
