FCC tests HSPA+, LTE PlayBook tablets

The promised LTE version of the PlayBook tablet has now been spotted at the FCC. An HSPA+ version is also undergoing testing at the government agency. Both are expected to get NFC and a dual-core, 1.5GHz processor.

The LTE version will support AT&T frequencies as well as Bell, Rogers, and Telus in Canada. The original, Wi-Fi PlayBook uses a 1GHz processor.

The HSPA+ version is expected to come out in the spring, with the 4G version likely coming before year's end. [via SlashGear]
