HTC One X gets first hard ship date

O2's UK division posted on Twitter what might have been an inadvertent confirmation of the launch date of the HTC One X. The quad-core phone was due to come in on April 5, roughly fitting in with HTC's early spring target. Prices and rates for the phone hadn't been set.

Other countries are poised to get the phone soon themselves, although the dates could vary widely. AT&T has confirmed it's getting the LTE but dual-core version of the One X, although it might not ship until significantly later.

In the UK and most countries, the One X will be one of the earliest quad-core phones and carry a Tegra 3 inside. A 4.7-inch, 720p display puts it directly in the high end. A 1.3-megapixel front camera and an eight-megapixel back camera are familiar to the HTC line, although an extra-wide f2.0 aperture on the back should help with low-light shots, macros, and portraits.
