Sources corroborate 2013 E3 rumor
Microsoft has rejected rumors that have suggested the company may unveil its next-generation Xbox later this year at E3. In a statement provided to Bloomberg, Microsoft spokesman David Dennis claimed that the company will not be focusing on hardware at the gaming conference this year.
"There will be no talk of new Xbox hardware at E3 or anytime soon," said Dennis. "For us, 2012 is all about Xbox 360."
Corroborating separate rumors, several unnamed sources claim the Xbox 360 successor is slated for a 2013 unveiling at E3. Some industry insiders have cast doubt on the possibility that the device would ship before the 2013 holidays, however Bloomberg's sources claim the company is planning to ship the device shortly after it is introduced.
Nintendo has aligned itself to be the first of the three primary console makers to formally introduce its next-generation hardware, the Wii U. Sony also recently denied rumors of a PlayStation 4 unveiling at E3 this year.
