Lumia phones to get update for hotspot feature
Nokia Lumia phones will soon get an update that enables tethering, the FAQ section revealed on the Nokia Connects website. While no set date was revealed, it was only said to be soon. The conversation focused on the Lumia 900 but also related to other Windows Phone 7 handsets from the Finnish maker.
The update will also have some undefined changes in store for the camera.
When the Lumia 900 and 610 launch, they will have the tethering feature out of the box, while the currently shipping Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 will need to wait for the over-the-air software update. With the Lumia 900 expected to launch late in March, the update may be out at the same time.
Most Windows Phone 7 smartphones don't currently support hotspots, or the ability to share a broadband connections with other nearby devices over Wi-Fi or USB. [via All About Windows Phone]
