Air Display to soon support iPad Retina screen

Avatron has just detailed that its Air Display app ($10, iTunes) will be updated to support the new iPad's 2048x1536 resolution for its wireless secondary display technique. The update process did encounter challenges, however, as adding four times more pixels slowed frame rates. While resolving this problem, the Avatron programmers were able to improve the frame rates on older iOS devices, and especially the dual-core iPad 2 and iPhone 4S.

The HiDPI mode hidden in OS X Lion and Mountain Lion is also supported with the refresh. It renders with double resolution on a screen that's capable of it. For the iPad, users need to go to the Displays Preferences on their Macs and select the 1024x768 (HiDPI) option. Appearances on the displays of the iPhone 4 and 4S was given its own lift, Avatron said.

The updated app and HiDPI option aren't yet live, as the app is undergoing the approval process from Apple.

    Well with the laquer,

    and a nice big fan,
to get rid of all the extra heat!

    As an added plus -

    the new iPad,

when held close to the male user's gonads,

by the sheer rise in the local temperature
dramatically decreases the user's sperm count,

thus ensuring the number of future iOS fans
diminishes with the prolonged use of the device.
