Both models focus on budget market

Coby has begun shipping several of its Android 4.0 tablets that were first introduced earlier this year at CES. The two models that will arrive this month include the seven-inch Kyros MID7042-4 and the 9.7-inch Kyros MID9742-B, both focused on the entry-level tablet market.

The tablets integrate a single-core 1GHz ARM Cortex-A8 processor paired with 1GB of RAM, along with front-facing cameras, HDMI output, 8GB if internal storage, microSD slots, and 802.11n Wi-Fi.

The seven-inch variant offers a 16:9 capacitive touchscreen with 800x480 resolution, while the 9.7-inch model steps up to a 1024x768 panel.

The MID7042 is now available for $179, while the MID9742 retails for $279. The company is also expected to offer eight-, nine-, and 10-inch models later this spring.
