Comcast and Time Warner cable subscribers are reportedly blocked from accessing HBO Go content via Xbox 360. Many cable subscribers who were already paying for HBO service through Comcast and Time Warner were surprised to find that their cable providers have yet to participate in the HBO Go program.

Microsoft's HBO Go reference site does not list Time Warner or Comcast as supported providers, though most of the other major cable or satellite providers, and many of the regional providers, are supported by the service.

The Xbox app enables users to access HBO content from the game console, however users must first authenticate the service with their current TV subscription information. [via The Verge and Major Nelson]
