Info uploadable from Twitter

Foursquare has aadded a new level of personal information that can be shared with others. The social activity sharing site will let users publish a brief biography of themselves for other Foursquare members to see while they are interacting. Users can input the biographical information manually or directly import it from a Twitter account, with a chance to edit it before it goes live.

To create a bio, subscribers need sign in and go to their personal settings. There they can just fill in the new "Bio" field or upload their background from Twitter.

The location check-in service has increasingly been building social elements, such as check-in comments, to-dos, and lists, but has given very little room for users to create a personal identity. Biographies both help establish trust and help explain why someone might be worth following if it isn't immediately apparent.
