$50 battery free with contract

Samsung is offering a free battery bundled with the Verizon edition of the Galaxy Nexus. The package deal is available through the Best Buy-run Samsung Mobile shop. The 2100 mAh battery normally retails for $50.

The Galaxy Nexus, first offered by Verizon in November, sports a 4.65-inch, 720p Super AMOLED HD display. It was the first smartphone in the US to come with Android 4.0 and remains the only one to date.

The Samsung Mobile website is administered by Best Buy Mobile. The phone with battery sells for $300 with a 2-year contract.
