Approach S3 gets glove-friendly screen, more
Garmin has just introduced its latest electronic accessory for golfers in its Approach S3 watch. The rugged and waterproof watch sports a touchscreen that can be operated with gloves on and contains data on 27,000 courses across the world. It contains data such as distances to doglegs and lay-up points, lets users manually place the pin on the greens, and doubles as a scorecard.
Compared to Garmin's first golf watch, the Approach S1 introduced near the end of 2010, the S3 gets a Green View feature and other changes including that glove-friendly touchscreen. Green View lets users customize the information to reflect the day's current pin position. Scores can be kept in Stroke Play and Stableford game types.
The watch ships later this month, priced at $350. It can be had in white with red trim and black with gray trim. The screen's background colors can be set to white or black.
