Sprint starts Galaxy Nexus training, leaves LTE off at first

Sprint Galaxy Nexus keeps LTE off early

Training leaks have shown that Sprint is getting close to launching its version of the Galaxy Nexus. The Engadget tip had staff being told how to sell the features of Android 4.0 and the phone, including Google Wallet. In a surprise, the first wave of phones will ship with LTE turned off, suggesting the Nexus will ship before the LTE network is ready.

The escaped details didn't confirm the leaks surrounding the Sprint-specific changes. Some hints have existed that it may get a faster 1.5GHz processor versus the 1.2GHz of the original. At a minimum, it will have the 32GB of the Verizon model and won't block Google Wallet.

Training is expected to wrap within the next two weeks, which supports tips to Electronista and others that the release should fall between April 15 and 22. If so, it could beat the LG Viper 4G LTE to market despite the Viper's pre-orders starting days earlier.
