Users can speak into remote to control TVs
At CES in January, LG previewed its 2012 line of Smart TVs. At the time, the company promised that some time during the year, it would be integrating voice control into its smart sets. LG is now ready to commit to the feature and plans to remotely activate it as of Thursday.
The Voice Control feature works in conjunction with the Smart TV's five-button Magic Remote and its built-in microphone. Commands are direct, rather than relying on natural language, but let users handle tasks from changing the channel to basic app interaction.
Starting this month, all Smart TVs shipped will be equipped with the Voice Control enabled right out of the box. Units with the Magic Remote shipped before April 1 will be updated and activated by April 30. [via SlashGear]
