HTC One S for T-Mo nails speed tests
The HTC One Sfor T-Mobile has surfaced undergoing benchmark testing and the results are impressive. Its dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 (Krait) processor shows a result that it is more than twice as fast as the Samsung dual-core Exynos processor at the heart of the Galaxy Nexus in its Quadrant score. Where the Galaxy Nexus scores around 2,000 on the benchmark, the HTC One S pushes past 4,000 giving it the crown, alongside its similarly powered sibling, the HTC One X.
The HTC One S is available on T-Mobile exclusively for 180 days after its April launch. It sits slightly below the HTC One X in HTC’s line-up, but shares the same Snapdragon processor in the North American market. Although the HTC One X ships with a quad-core Tegra 3 in markets outside North America, the dual-core Snapdragon S4 has also been shown to blow past its quad-core powered alter ego.
The HTC One S uses a 4.3-inch 960x540 AMOLED display, but is just 7.9mm thin. Its aluminum housing has been zapped with 10,000 volts using a microarc oxidization process making it four times stronger than standard anodization. As with all the HTC One-series phones, it runs Android 4.0 with HTC’s Sense 4.0 UI. [via TMO News]
