Instagram on Android gets wider Tegra 3 support
Instagram has updated its Android app yet again to support a much wider range of devices. The app (Google Play) now supports devices using NVIDIA's Tegra 3 processor. Doing so enables both the HSPA+ version of the HTC One X, the ASUS Transformer Prime, and any other phone or tablet running the quad-core chip.
The One X gets special treatment with explicit support for Instagram's "advanced camera" and filtering effects rather than having to revert to the device's stock software. Bug fixes are now in place for the recently added tablet support, and everyone gets improvements through more frequent position updates to more accurately geotag shots.
Instagram continues to require Android 2.2 and OpenGL ES 2.0 graphics support to run, although every Tegra 3 device known so far is running on at least Android 3.2 and more often 4.0.
