Toshiba introduces performance notebooks

Toshiba has brought out two new performance laptops alongside today's earlier affordable notebook announcement. The Satellite P800 series will be powered by Intel's Ivy Bridge processors and NVIDIA GeForce 630M discrete graphics, while the Satellite S800 series will have the choice of Ivy Bridge or AMD's most recent notebook processors with optional AMD graphics.

The P800 line includes harman/kardon speakers with SRS processing, HD webcam, hard drive impact sensor, USB 3.0 ports, an HDMI port and Resolution+, Toshiba's own video upconversion technology. Both laptops have raised tile keyboards, power-off USB charging, 14-inch, 15.6-inch and 17.3-inch display sizes, and options for Blu-ray, among others.

Both the Satellite P800 and S800 series will be available at the start of the third quarter of this year. The S800 range will start from $700, the P845 and P855 from $800, and the P875 from $850.
