Google OS paired with 3D LED TV

LG is reportedly preparing to launch its next round of Google TV devices in the US market. The company has yet to officially confirm release details, however analysts with the Korean financial firm Shinhan Investment claim the first devices are expected to arrive as early as this week.

The televisions, which were previewed early this year at CES, are some of the first Google TVs to support 3D content. The televisions follow LG's current 3D lineup, focusing on passive 3D glasses rather than costlier active-shutter frames.

Rumors have suggested LG may be working directly with Google to develop a Nexus-branded Google TV set, following the search giant's strategy in the smartphone market, however the forthcoming televisions are expected to be limited to the sets shown at CES.

The 3D LED TVs are said to be available in 47- and 55-inch sizes, with respective prices of $1,600 and $2,100. [via Korea Herald]
