ASUS prices, dates mobile gear for Italy

At the Milan Design Week, ASUS priced and dated many of its upcoming portable products for the European market, Notebook Italia learned. The Padfone will ship late in May, or about a month later than in its home market of Taiwan. Its price at a telephone operator hasn't been revealed, but the Padfone Station that includes the 32GB handset and a docking tablet that's coming in June will cost 700 euros (about $914).

The Padfone Dock with a keyboard will be a standalone option for 150 euros (about $200). An LTE version of the handset is expected in September, though no prices are known.

The Transformer Pad Infinity 700 will arrive on European stores on June 10, priced at 600 euros (about $780). This will be for the 64GB, Wi-Fi version. The Transformer Pad 300 is due out in Italy by mid-May. The 32GB tablet will be available in Wi-Fi guise for 400 euros (about $520) and Wi-Fi with 3G for 500 euros (nearly $650).

The N56 notebook range will arrive in mid-May, with prices starting at 700 euros ($914). They all get Intel Ivy Bridge processors and up to 8GB of RAM. The 15.6-inch 720p display will be upgradeable to an LED-backlit one with 1080p resolution. There will also be a 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT635M GPU on offer, while hard drives will include 500GB, 750GB, and 1TB capacities. A DVD drive is standard, and Blu-ray will be optional.

The ASUS K55 will start at 500 and is due to arrive in Italy and likely the rest of Europe by the end of May. On offer will be a 2.2GHz dual-core Pentium as well as a 2.3GHz Core i3, 3.1GHz Core i5, or 3.1GHz Core i7. Users can also select up to 8GB for RAM, while the display is 15.6-inch, 720p unit with an LED backlight. The same GPU as above is on offer as well as the same hard drive options.
