Braven speakers support FaceTime, iChat, Skype
Braven, which used to be called Spar, has just introduced a new Bluetooth speaker range that aims to differentiate itself from the others out there thanks to a couple of uncommon features. All three can be daisy-chained to provide stereo or surround sound, and they can also be used to charge phones or other portable devices through their USB ports. The wireless range is Bluetooth's typical 33 feet, and the auxiliary port also allows connecting other sources.
Each has two drivers and two small subwoofers, while being rated at 3W. A microphone is built into each to allow for speakerphone functionality as well.
The Braven 600 is made from aluminum and can be had in gray or red. It offers 14 hours of battery life from its battery. The Braven 650 adds aptX and AAC audio encoding and ups battery life to 20 hours. The 625s is meant for the outdoors thanks to shock-absorbing design. It ships with a waterproof bag and a USB flashlight. Its battery life provides 16 hours of life.
The Braven 600 will cost $150, the 625s for $180, and the 650 for $190, with all shipping at the end of June.
