Delayed Raspberry Pi now being shipped
RS Components and Allied Electronics have started sending Raspberry Pi boards to customers as of today. The earliest customers in the order queue received e-mails over the weekend with a voucher code and a link to a dedicated page to order their micro-PC. However, the site had issues with crashing from others wanting to order without receiving their code.
With the Model B devices shipping today, the initial batch will be with customers as early as tomorrow, whom have had an extended wait due to issues with incorrect components during manufacturing. Customers outside this first wave of deliveries will be forced to wait until the Raspberry Pi goes into production again, this time for a far larger batch to match demand.
Model A devices, at $25 instead of $35 and losing Ethernet and two USB ports, are not currently in production with a date yet to be set for release.
