Acer ships Iconia Tab A510 to Americans

Following a formal US launch late last month, Acer has started selling the Iconia Tab A510 in the US. The Android 4.0 tablet is currently in stock from Acer, and presumably resellers, at its quoted $450 price for a 32GB Wi-Fi model. Buying from Acer itself gets the Olympic Game Edition, which has the competition's logo on the back but is otherwise similar to the reference design.

The A510 is Acer's first quad-core tablet and packs a 1.3GHz version of NVIDIA's Tegra 3. Other features are familiar to the A500 it replaces, including the 1280x800 display and a five-megapixel rear camera. The front camera is a one-megapixel unit good enough for self-portraits and video chat.

Most of Acer's tablet lineup for the year has been launched and currently leaves just the Iconia Tab A700, its highest-end model. It will share most of its roots with the A510, but add a much sharper 1080p display.
