Lenovo leaks own Intel Ivy Bridge plans

A Lenovo reseller channel update (PDF has inadvertently revealed the company's plans to ship systems based on Intel's Ivy Bridge platform in June. Systems based on Chief River, the mainboard chipset plaform for Ivy Bridge processors, will be on sale for resellers on June 5. These stores won't get their units until September, but it's possible that Lenovo itself will ship PCs to end users sooner.

The exact systems weren't outlined, but could include the ThinkPad L430 and L530. Their details are short, but the two should be hardened to military levels and use mid-range Core i5 and possibly i7 chips in their 14- and 15-inch frames.

Some of Lenovo's notebook introductions from January are expected to arrive in earnest after Ivy Bridge is made official, possibly next week, and may also see existing PCs updated to the faster technology.
