Dual-core phone launch to be Bell exclusive
Samsung's Galaxy S II HD LTE is coming to Canada, and Bell Canada will be the exclusive carrier for the "superphone" at launch. The Samsung-Bell partnership marks the North American debut for the Galaxy S II HD LTE, which launched in Korea last year.
The dual-core phone will sport a 4.65-inch HD Super AMOLED screen much like that of the Galaxy Nexus, as well as an eight-megapixel camera capable of 1080p recording. At launch, the device will come with Android 2.3 and an HD-optimized TouchWiz user interface, though Bell says an upgrade to Android 4.0 will become available in the coming months.
The Galaxy S II has sold over 10 million units worldwide since launch. The Galaxy S II HD LTE exclusive could give Bell a device edge over its competitor Rogers, which already launched a non-HD version of the phone on its own 4G service.
