AWS to sell app deployment to cloud service

Amazon Web Services has introduced a "one-click deployment" software store for its users. The AWS Marketplace allows customers to buy and deploy web-based software directly onto Amazon's IT infrastructure.

AWS aims to make website development easier through Amazon's system, offering a simpler way to choose software utilities that can be powered by the company's cloud servers. The initial offering includes software from Microsoft, IBM, SUSE, Red Hat, and others; and open source tools such as Wordpress, Drupal and MediaWiki.

Software is available at a variety of prices, including pay-by-the-hour and free options, with an additional AWS infrastructure cost on top.
